The journey that is now known as Rochester Solar and Wind a Division of Quality Solar Concepts Inc of New York started in the small suburban town of Clarkson, NY. Clarkson is located north of Brockport, NY, and is nestled between Rochester and Buffalo.
In 2000, we discovered that a small stream that passed through our quaint Clarkson neighborhood was contaminated with toxic chemicals, and carcinogens, including PCB's, SVOC's and other by-products from many years of unregulated manufacturing upstream in the village of Brockport. Funds were secured for remediation from the Department of Environmental Conservation to bring clean up the Brownfields. To date, testing has only been completed two miles North of the contamination site. Brockport Creek still runs through miles of residential communities beyond the village of Brockport, eventually emptying into Lake Ontario.
The toxic contamination running through our backyards and the realization that the lifestyle we were living in was unsustainable; gave way to the idea of Rochester Solar and Wind LLC.
